RAC learner driver insurance

This is Dayinsure with an RAC badge on it. The RAC's own page refers to the customer being covered by 'Dayinsure's provisional learner insurance'. Worth knowing before you treat it as a separate quote.

RAC Motoring brand, resold

This is not independent of Dayinsure. If you are comparing the two, you are comparing one product with itself. Read about Dayinsure.

Who it suits, from what they publish

On its own published terms this is worth a look if:

  • you are learning in a car you own yourself
  • you want to start building your own no-claims before you pass

And it is ruled out, before you get as far as a price, if:

  • you are under 17

Things that are easy to miss

  • No telematics curfew on your own car, which the RAC contrasts with box policies.
  • Cover does not extend to driving home from the test centre after passing.

Before you buy

This is a summary of what RAC publishes, not the policy. The policy wording and the Insurance Product Information Document govern what you are actually covered for, and they are the documents to read before you pay. If they disagree with anything here, they are right and this page is out of date.

We have no relationship with RAC, we are not paid by them, and this page is not a recommendation to buy from them. It is a reading of what they publish.
