Editorial Policy
Who writes this, what we will and will not do, and how to tell whether to trust a page.
Who writes it
Sam Allcock, Publisher and editor. Sam Allcock is the publisher of Learners Insurance. He builds media and reference businesses, has built and sold two UK agencies, and runs a portfolio of independent news and reference titles through Domain Farm Ltd.
He is not an insurance broker, an adviser or an underwriter, and this site does not pretend otherwise. Nothing here is a recommendation about which policy to buy. What the site offers is the reading: every fact on it is taken from a provider's own published material and dated, so you can check it.
What we will not do
We will not tell you which policy to buy. We will not use the word 'best' about a provider, because best depends entirely on who is asking. We will not publish a price as though it were your price. We will not run a quote form or collect your details.
We will not take payment for coverage, for placement, for a link, or for leaving something out.
How a page is built
A page is only written where we have measured that Google is not already answering the question itself. Where it is, writing a page would be chasing a click that does not arrive, and we would rather publish less.
Each page states its sources, carries the date it was checked, and links directly to the provider material it draws on so you can read the original.
Use of AI
Research and drafting on this site use AI tooling. Every fact about a provider is taken from that provider's published material and checked against the source before publication, and the site is edited by a named person who is accountable for it. No page is published unread.
